The Difference between UVC, Ozone Generating, and HEPA Air Filters


There are many types of air filters that you can use to purify and oxygenate the air in your home. Ultraviolet Air Purifiers: Ultraviolet light is an efficient method of destroying germs and viruses, given it is utilized at the correct level of concentration. HEPA Air Purifiers: The High Efficiency Particle Arresting (HEPA) type filters were previously developed for the atomic energy commission and were used in industrial commercial trades to sanitize rooms because of their ability to remove particles from the air. This filter is constructed from unique grain paper or polymer sheet with very small passage for air flow. This is so that only air can flow through, and nothing else can. Because the passage of the media through fiber is tiny, you need large surface area for a reasonable amount of air flow to pass through it. To increase the surface area, the material is folded in an accordion or zigzag fashion to get the surface area in a small volume. The HEPA Air Purifiers work great in homes for trapping particles. One bad thing about them is they the filters needs to be changed every now and then depending on the amount you use it.
